In rare cases, iPhone users who receive a digital card link via text/SMS may not be able to tap and open the link. This happens due to iOS security settings, which temporarily block links from unknown senders.
How to Fix the Issue
If your recipient cannot tap on the link, they can try these solutions:
Option 1: Wait a Few Minutes
iPhones sometimes automatically hyperlink the message after completing a security check.
Waiting a few minutes may resolve the issue without any action needed.
Option 2: ‘Long-Press’ and Trust the Sender
The recipient should long-press on the text message.
Tap the thumbs-up (👍) icon in the reaction options.
This signals to the iPhone that the sender is trusted, and the link will become clickable immediately.
This also ensures future messages from the same sender won’t have this issue.
Why Does This Happen?
This is an iOS security feature, not a Haystack-specific issue. Apple applies this security setting to all URLs sent via SMS from new senders—including well-known sites like CNN.com or NASA.gov.
Alternative Ways to Share Your Digital Card
Since this issue only affects iMessage (SMS) messages on iPhones, you can avoid it altogether by sharing your card via:
QR codes
Email
WhatsApp
Facebook Messenger
These methods ensure your link is always clickable.
